Who wants to go to a beach?

Are you ready for a winter vacation? Wondering where you should go? My son, his girlfriend, and some of her family just took a 5 day vacation to Sarasota, Florida. Also did some sight seeing in Tampa. They had a hotel just across the street from a beautiful beach. Everyone enjoyed 60-80ºF temps for the week. I'm glad they all had a great time and safely traveled to and from, but did secretly chuckle when they returned to Minnesota to a high of 20ºF.

Anybody else tired of the cold winter temps wherever you live? Well...let me recommend a vacation spot for you. Warm temps, a beautiful beach...and some paranormal activity. Let me take you to Surat Gujarat, India, where you can spend a lovely day at the beach...but watch out for the ghosts at night.

Dumas Beach is a short distance from the busy city of Surat. It is a big tourist area, lots of shops and entertainment along the way. Many people enjoy many day hours at the beach, swimming and playing in the sand. But...you won't see many people there at night.

What makes Dumas Beach so special? The first thing is the black sand. That's right, the sand is a black-ish color. Now, one of the legit main reasons the sand is black is said to be the high iron concentration. Another reason for the black sand is said to be that it is the site of a previous burial/cremation ground. Which, in my opinion, leads to fair game to create a haunting.

It is said that the ghosts come out at nights all across the beach area. Many tourists and locals have reported figures and orbs showing up in their pictures. People have reported hearing strange noises, disembodied voices, even loud laughter...with no body to connect the laughter to. I'm not sure what's scarier...having a figure show up in one of my photos when I know no one was there when I took it or hearing someone cackling but I can't see them.

It's also been reported that dogs will behave a bit protective, not letting people go further on the beach as it is said they can sense the paranormal activity. I don't know about you, but I would trust the dog in a heartbeat.

There have also been reports of locals and tourists going missing and the last place they were known to be was Dumas Beach. Of course, I don't know if that should make you change your travel plans...that may have nothing to do with ghosts...or the laughing thing that walks the beach at night.

Overall, if you're having the winter blues and would love to hang out at a lovely beach by day, Dumas beach sounds like a great place to go. Winter blues or not...if you're looking for a place to hopefully catch some paranormal activity while enjoying some warm weather, sounds like Dumas Beach is still the place to be. Whatever you decide...safe travels!
